U.S. Marshal fee for writs of restitution increases to $183

Effective Tuesday, November 1, 2011, the cost
to issue a writ of restitution fee will be one hundred
eighty three dollars ($183). The cost to issue an alias
writ of restitution will remain eighteen dollars ($18).

Currently, three (3) U.S. Marshals monitor an
eviction, for a total of $165 in U.S. Marshal Service
fees. Effective Tuesday, November 1, 2011, the U.S.
Marshal Service will charge an additional $8 for
writs issued. A breakdown of the writ of restitution
costs are:

Writ of Restitution Fee: $183
3 U.S. Marshals: $165
U.S. Marshal Service Administrative Fee: $ 8
D.C. Superior Court Clerk’s Fee: $ 10

Total Writ of Restitution Fee: $183
Alias Writ of Restitution Fee: $18
U.S. Marshal Service Administrative Fee: $ 8
Landlord and Tenant Clerk’s Fee: $ 10

Total Alias Writ of Restitution Fee: $ 18
